Design inspiration

The design inspiration for the Jahre 65% comes from the first three generations of the Porsche 911 (with chassis codes 901, 930, and 964). Even after decades of evolution, they still possess exceptional charm.

The most distinctive among them is the 964 anniversary edition released by Porsche in 1994 to celebrate its 30th anniversary: the Porsche 964 Jubiläumsmodell "30 Jahre 911".

Compared to the standard Carrera 4 version, the "30 Jahre 911" adopted the widebody design unique to the Turbo model, making the overall lines more full and dynamic.

Additionally, below the rear air intake grille, the standard "Carrera" badge was replaced with "911," and a "30 Jahre" emblem was engraved below it, showcasing its commemorative significance in every detail.

Therefore, designer chose to name this kit "Jahre," hoping it can accompany users for a long time and even become a collectible and heritage-worthy piece.

Structure

Structurally, we've chosen to use a silicone gasket structure this time and have slotted the plate spring in a Leaf Spring format.

Worth mentioning is that the accompanying silicone gasket can be flipped and used on both sides to provide different degrees of travel space.

  • With the narrow side of the silicone gasket facing down, the positioning plate ears' slots are in a suspended state, providing greater deformation space and a more bouncy feel.
  • If the wide side faces down, the Leaf Spring slots will be fully supported, achieving a more solid and stable feel.

Design concept

During the exterior design process of the Jahre 65%, I extracted some characteristic elements from the vehicle's appearance. After reconceptualization and integration, while maintaining an elegant, refined, simple, and steady appearance, these detail elements were incorporated.

From the front view, each side of the top case features a shuttle-shaped curved edge that narrows slightly downward, resembling the subtle widebody of the 30 Jahre 911, creating a fuller visual impression.

The side of the top case also features a fold line consistent with the bottom case curvature, making the side view more elegant.

Bottom case + nameplate

The curved surface design on the bottom case references the body tuck line at the rear fender, while integrating the classic air intake slot design from the front hood to the bottom surface to enrich the bottom view.

A small aluminum nameplate is embedded below, with an overall sandblasted black anodized finish. The top is additionally flat-ground and polished with secondary anodization, adding a subtle visual accent.

PCB | Layouts

The mechanical switch PCB remains the familiar 1.6mm thick black core board material, while the firmware-supported polling rate has been increased to 8K HZ.

Single-mode soldered and single-mode hot-swap options are available.

In addition to the standard mechanical switch PCB, the Jahre 65% is also compatible with Venom's 65% magnetic switch PCB.

The group buy simultaneously offers PCB and compatible positioning plate purchases, allowing users to choose freely.
