CASE DESIGN
Pangea Mini takes many design elements from the Pangea Fullsize. The side profile shares the same arching HG style taper to give some depth when viewed from the side. The top view also showcases the interchangeable top frame. While Pangea Fullsize used this part to allow for a swappable numpad, Pangea Mini has different layout options offered in many different material and finishing options for a distinctive top down aesthetic.
MOUNTING DESIGN
The goal of pangea mini was to have a soft, uniform feel across the entire board. To achieve that I chose to use leafspring poron gasket mount. The relief cuts near the spacebar allow for more flex in that area while giving it a responsive feel and maintaining a uniform typing feel on the whole keyboard. Poron is an optimal material to absorb the vibrations produced by typing, preventing transfer to the case, which can cause pinging.
